Scientific name for the "muikku" local lake fish. There is a Savo' specialty made of dark bread and muikku: kalakkuko.
Well, some like a lot, some prefer the bread... need to be tested!

So nice so sweet... it was waiting for me on my way to university i decided that it should be my lucky day! White and grey during winter, and more brown during summer, hope to see you again with family!

Ok, indeed ihaven't been in frozen lake after sauna, but at least i can ski!
Indeed i'm living in one of the best region for cross country skiing, thus Marjo brought some equipment (ski, shoes and sticks) and here we go...

Sunday, when i come back from Helsinki, i damnly realised that winter is gone and now ice is melting, fishin' race, and other nice stuff willl come back in few months, snif... well i'm exagerating a bit

So just for you a nice sun set on a defreezin' lake

Hi, because i'm coming from a region in France where snow is relatively rare, i'm glad to spend some months in beautiful finland during late winter time.
I was here last year during summer time and i could have this opportunity again to live here so... welcome back.
Here is the picture from the plane i took just before arriving in Kuopio. Just enjoy the sunny day and the frozen lakes.




Kuopio in the hart of the finnish lakes, with warm local people, always looking at me like... a stranger indeed! but despite this, i already met some really nice people!

I'll not say a lot about finnish people, just some picture of people i like or some crazy stuff we are all able to see or do!

Here are two of my colleagues, Kimmo (M) & Viivi (F), local people that you can find in different pubs like Gloria, Henry's Pub, TVA or K-Klubi (the cheapest beers in town 0,6l for 3,8€), indeed I went in these pubs and i had good time!

i know now why Finland gives the best ice racers during WRC... look at this road!

Soon after this road, you have small hills where you can practice a typical nordic sport: ski jumping! Lucky we are because on top of these hills there is Puijon Tower (TV, GSM and Radio relay).



It is possible to visit the tower and the nicest is this panoramic 360° vieuw we have on Kuopio and the surrondings. Unfortunately, the open terrasse is close since??? and it's not easy to get panoramic view, so just for you to enjoy a bit i sticked two pictures together!



You remember once i told you about this man early in the morning by -12°C who took a bath in cold water??? Here is the hole! grrr... there's a pump under the ladder to avoid the water to freeze back!



Ok, i'm not on holidays, here a nice (i hope) panoramic picture from the lake of University of Kuopio, the road i take every morning... lucky no? and this morning was around -23°C but with such view it's not cold enough, well...
